REIhomesales Investor Theme Setup Instructions

The REIhomesales WordPress Themes for Real Estate Investors are designed to make it easy and affordable to generate leads online. We have included special enhancements in the theme files themselves that require some extra setup. Since we don’t want to reinvent the wheel, we also have designed the themes to work with the cForms plugin. We also have themes that require no plug ins.

Preparing Your Setup

This process is slightly advanced and is crucial to generate leads effectively online. If you need help, don’t forget we offer complete WordPress setup and hosting solutions.

In order to ensure that our content and fom packs work properly, you must start with a fresh WordPress Install. If you have existing pages in your site, back them up, delete and reinstall WordPress and add your old pages in after adding our content pack.

After installing wordpress and activating your REIhomesales WordPress Theme, you will need to do a little work if you want to utilize all of the features from our WordPress Themes,  REIhomesales WordPress Content Pack and REIhomesales WordPress Form Pack for Real Estate Investors.

Setting up your WordPress Site’s Home Page

To use the REIhomesales WordPress Themes for Real Estate Investing, we recommend that you set your homepage to display a “page” instead of a “post”.
We have made special features that only work if you have your WordPress set up this way.

1. Log into your WordPress site
2. Click “Settings” in the main WordPress admin navigation menu.
3. Click “Reading”
4. In the “Front page displays” section, choose “Static Page” and select “Home” from the drop down list.
5. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page

Now, if you use our REIhomesales WordPress Content Pack, you will have an editable page section of the homepage and it will also display your latest post(s)

Install REIhomesales WordPress Content for Real Estate Investors

1. Download the latest copy of the REIhomesales Content Pack for Real Estate Investors.
2. Log into your WordPress site
3. On the left nav menu in the admin, click “Tools”
4. Click “Import”
5. At the bottom of the list click “WordPress”
6. Use the browse box to navigate to the REIhomesales Content Pack file you downloaded earlier and select it.
7. click “Submit”

Thats it. All of our prewritten content and page structure will be installed on your site.

Choose Your Web Site’s Topic

Due to the fact that our content pack is an “all in one” solution for real estate investor websites of any type, most of the time you will want to hide some of the pages in the main nav menu. For instance, if you are using the site for to generate home buyer leads only, you might not want to show all of the “private lending” content, or vice versa. This allows you to use multiple copies of the Content Pack on multiple sites and dial each one in to generate the specific lead type you are after.

To disable pages from the main navigation menu…

1. Log into your WordPress Site
2. Click “REIcreator” at the bottom of the main navigation menu. This is our main options page that allows you to control all of our theme’s options.
3. In the “Exclude Pages from Header Navigation” section of the page, hightlight the pages that you want to EXCLUDE from the site. You may select more than one page by ctrl+clicking (command+click on the Mac).
4. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page.

The pages you highlighted will no longer appear on the site’s main navigation menu. You can reactivate them whenever you want. You can also make different sites and try out different combinations of the pages.

Once you have the correct page structure showing up on your site, we highly recommend that you edit the text a little bit on each page. Our Content Pack is really just a template to make it easy to get your site set up quickly. While it has a solid message and page structure, it is a good idea to tell your visitors what you are all about in your own words. The pages are easily editable, let them hear what you have to say. The more you edit the pages to focus on your specific business, the better you will do on the search engines.

To edit your pages, choose “Pages” and “Edit” in the main navigation of your WordPress site admin and select the page you want to edit.

Download and Install cForms II Plugin

Alright, now you have a site with pages. In order to generate leads with your site, you need a form for visitors to fill out. In order to use the Prewritten Forms for the REIhomesales real estate investor WordPressThemes, you must download and install the cforms II plugin to your WordPress site. This plugin will allow you to easily add forms to your site. Once you install and activate this plugin, you will be able to use all of our pre-written forms.

Import REIhomesales Form Presets

Alright, I think it has been pretty simple so far. This part gets a little tricky. Due to the fact that cForms only lets you upload one form backup file at a time, you have to import all of our form files IN ORDER. Even if you arent going to use some of them, you should still install them all and IN ORDER. when importing the forms, they will get assigned a number as they are imported. If you don;t import them all in order, the numbers might not match up and it could cause formatting issues on your form pages. If you install them all in the correct order, you will be able to add any of the forms to any pages and add them to sidebar widgets on your site.

Once you have activated the cForms II plugin on your WordPress Site,

1. Download and unzip the REIhomesales WordPress Content Pack for Real Estate Investors (the form pack is included inside the Content Pack)
2. Log into your WordPress site’s admin
3. Click “cForms” on the left navigation menu in your WordPress admin
4. Click “Styling”
5. Click the “Activate Label IDs” Button
6. Click the “Activate List Element IDs” button
7. On the cForms section of the main WordPress admin navigation, click “Form Settings”
8. On the right of the screen there is an “Admin Actions” button that opens when you click it.
9. Click “Backup and Restore Settings”
10. Use the browse box to find the first form in the Form Pack folder from inside the unzipped REIhomesales WordPress Content Pack for Real Estate Investors folder from step 1 and select it. This adds the form to your forms list.
11. scroll down and click “Admin Email Message Options” to expand the menu. On this menu you will find various things including the field where you enter the email address you want to use for your leads. Enter your “from” email address and the email address where you want to recieve your leads.
12. On the “Admin Actions” menu, click “Update Settings” to save.
13. To add the next form, you must first select “Add New Form” from the “Admin Actions” panel. If you don’t, you will keep uploading your next form over the last one… this is sort of a pain, but hey its all free.
14. Repeat steps 10-13 until you have added all the forms from the pack and have them in the correct order.

You now have the ability to easily add any of these forms to your site’s pages and posts as well as in the side bar in a normal widget or in our special lead form.

To enable our general lead form at the top of your site’s sidebar…

1. Log into your WordPress site admin
2. Click “REIcreator” at the bottom of the main WordPress admin navigation menu
3. Click the check box to “Enable REIcreator Lead Form”
4. In the following field, type in what you want the title of your lead form to say. You can use this form to generate any sort of basic leads. Just put whatever title on to ask for what you want to know…keep it short.
5. At the bottom of the page, click “Save”
